After a 25-year career in the field of child welfare, May has continued, over the past 7 years, to provide therapy for adolescents, adults, couples and families who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, grief/loss, relationship and/or family conflict. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker certified in cognitive processing therapy for PTSD. May finds that many individuals are not aware of the impact of trauma on their life. While she strongly believes that many individuals have the answer to their personal struggle within themselves, May does make an effort to meet clients where they are by providing a safe opportunity to not only clarify their values, but also learn skills and strategies so that they are able to move forward and live their best life. May utilizes various clinical approaches to assist clients such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness, solution focused, positive psychology, psycho-education and most importantly the development of a strong therapeutic relationship.
